Star Lanterns look elegant for lantern festival. And can’t it be more authentic Asian than making lantern from bamboo? You can also use a bunch of those star lanterns decorate your patios after the lantern festival too.
Star lanterns are not too difficult to make, although they will require more skill and some harder to find material (flat bamboo sticks) as compared to building ones from balloons. If you have difficulty finding flat bamboo stick, you can replace it with 1cm-wide strip cutting from card-stock / card-board paper.
